I had a dream that me and my boyfriend were moving into a new house that we had bought. When we entered the door fell off the hinges. There was a bunch of random people in there for separate get togethers. One room was a bunch of people celebrating Christmas. Once room was a bunch of people celebrating Thanksgiving. One room was a bunch of people just sitting around a table talking. I was begging and telling people to leave my house. There was one older woman who was left with her daughters 3 babies, the daughter never showed so I let the older woman stay. Then my boyfriends dad and his wife showed up to stay with us. I was upset because they took the maser bedroom without even asking even though it was our house. That one door kept falling off the hinges every time someone would use it.
Dreams about houses often symbolize your own mind, self, or life. When you dream about moving into a new house, it may imply that you are going through significant changes or transitions in your life and into new phases, considering how you feel capable of handling new responsibilities or changes.
Here’s how the details of your dream might be interpreted:
Buying a New House: This represents a new beginning or a fresh start. It symbolizes your desire or actual pursuit of change, perhaps suggesting commitment, stability, and comfort in your relationship with your boyfriend.
The Door Falling Off the Hinges: A door in dreams often symbolizes new opportunities or stages of life opening to you. A door falling symbolizes unexpected obstacles or problems that disrupt plans. It signifies a lack of boundaries or feelings of invulnerability as you embark on this new phase.
Random People and Gatherings in the House: The people and different celebrations (Christmas, Thanksgiving) in your house suggest a variety of experiences, emotions, or issues you are tackling or about to face. This can signify feeling overwhelmed by others’ demands or the outside world intruding into your personal life or relationship.
Begging People to Leave: This reflects your desire to retain control over your life and personal space. It may indicate a struggle to maintain privacy or a sense of intrusion by others.
The Old Woman and the Babies: Allowing the older woman to stay might suggest nurturing instincts or feelings of responsibility for others. It may represent parts of yourself that are accommodating and nurturing or situations where you are protective.
Boyfriend’s Dad and Wife Taking the Master Bedroom: This scenario likely indicates feelings of territoriality or being invaded by others in your personal life and space. You could be feeling that others are overshadowing your position or taking control where they shouldn’t.
Recurring Issue with the Door: This represents ongoing disruptions or recurring issues that make it feel like events are out of your control, or that you can't fully secure your personal space and life changes.
Overall, your dream could be highlighting themes of transition, control, and stability within personal and relational contexts. You may benefit from considering where you can create stronger boundaries in your life and where you can assert yourself more strongly with regard to maintaining personal space and authority during life changes.
